VOISSIN LEATHER CARE

Thank you for choosing a Voissin leather object. Each piece is carefully crafted from selected leather and made to accompany you over time. Leather is a natural material. Its surface, texture, and color may vary from one piece to another, and these natural characteristics are part of what makes each object unique. With regular use, leather gradually develops its own character. Depending on the leather type, handling, friction, and exposure to its surroundings, it may become softer, develop a deeper tone, and acquire a natural patina.

Leather is sensitive to its surroundings. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, direct sunlight, excessive heat, and high humidity as these conditions may affect the leather’s color, texture, or finish. If your Voissin piece comes into contact with water, gently remove the moisture with a clean, soft cloth and allow it to dry naturally at room temperature. Do not use a hair dryer, heater, or other direct source of heat to accelerate the drying process.

Keep your leather object away from substances that may leave permanent marks, including ink, cosmetics, oils, perfumes, and alcohol-based products. Light-colored leather can also be affected by repeated contact with dark or heavily dyed clothing, especially when exposed to moisture or friction. Avoid placing excessive or unsuitable items inside your leather goods, as this may stretch the leather or permanently alter its original shape.

When not in use, store your Voissin piece in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. We recommend keeping it in its original Voissin box or protective dust bag. Avoid storing leather in sealed plastic bags, as restricted airflow may contribute to moisture buildup. For structured pieces, keep the original shape of the object when storing it. Do not place heavy objects on top of it or fold it in a way that may create permanent creases.

Metal hardware may naturally develop subtle changes in appearance through regular use. Avoid prolonged contact with water, chemicals, perfumes, and abrasive surfaces. When necessary, gently wipe the hardware with a clean, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or polishing products unless they are specifically suitable for the particular hardware finish.

Leather care requires the right products and techniques. Attempting to repair scratches, stains, discoloration, or structural damage yourself may cause further damage to the leather or finish. For more significant repairs or restoration, we recommend contacting Voissin before attempting any treatment. With proper care and time, your Voissin leather object will naturally develop its own character while preserving the qualities that made it yours in the first place.
