THE HOUSE
Voissin is an independent leather goods house devoted to the art of considered craftsmanship.
We create refined leather pieces as objects of lasting character—designed to become part of everyday life and, over time, part of the person who carries them.
Our approach is rooted in intention: exceptional materials, thoughtful proportions, precise construction, and restraint. Every piece begins within the House, but it is never intended to remain solely ours.
We believe an object becomes something more when it enters the life of its owner. It carries the character of where it began, while gradually acquiring something of the person who makes it their own.
For this reason, Voissin does not seek to create objects that simply belong to a collection.
We create objects that belong somewhere.
THE NAME
Voissin takes its name from the French word voisin, meaning “neighbour.”
For us, a neighbour represents proximity—a sense of closeness and connection between those who share the same surroundings while remaining distinctly their own.
The second “S” is our own interpretation of this idea. It represents the presence of the owner within the relationship between the House and its object.
A Voissin begins with the House, but finds its meaning with its owner.
The object becomes the bridge between the two.
THE CRAFT
Our collections are produced in limited quantities, allowing each piece to receive the attention it deserves.
We work with carefully selected leathers and traditional leatherworking techniques, bringing together time-honoured craftsmanship and a contemporary perspective. Every cut, stitch, and edge is considered with purpose, while the natural variations in grain, texture, and colour remain part of the character of genuine leather.
No two pieces are entirely alike. Subtle variations in the material are not imperfections to be concealed, but qualities to be appreciated.
Voissin is made for those who notice.
AN OBJECT, OVER TIME
We believe an object becomes more meaningful with time.
A piece of leather carries the traces of its making, but also the traces of the life it accompanies. The marks of use, the softening of the leather, and the subtle changes in colour are not signs of decline. They are part of its story.
For this reason, our pieces are designed not only to be admired when new, but to become more personal with use. We seek to create objects that can accompany their owners for years, acquiring character rather than simply showing age.
A Voissin is not meant to remain untouched.
It is meant to be lived with.
POUR LES INITIÉS
For the initiated.
To be initiated is not a matter of status. It is a matter of perception.
It is noticing the quality of a leather without needing it to be announced. Recognising the precision of a construction, the balance of a proportion, or the quiet satisfaction of an object made without excess.
Our pieces are created for those who look closer.
For those who understand that the most meaningful details are often the ones that ask for no attention at all.
To carry Voissin is to become part of that understanding.
Not simply as an owner, but as someone who gives the object its next chapter.
A NOTE FROM FOUNDER
Voissin was born from a need to create.
I have always been drawn to exploration—to discovering what an idea can become when given the freedom to evolve. I am deeply involved in the things I create. I can be exacting, obsessive over details, and unwilling to settle when I believe something can be made better.
For me, creation has never been simply about producing an object. It is about giving form to an idea.
Before Voissin, I worked alongside someone who shared a similar vision: the belief that craftsmanship and artistic education could create something meaningful. Yet working within someone else's house naturally meant that there were limits to how freely I could pursue an idea, alter a construction, or introduce a new direction.
Over time, I realized that I needed a place of my own.
Voissin became that place.
A place to explore, experiment, refine, and give form to ideas—sometimes down to the smallest detail. Not because perfection is the objective, but because care is.
Yet Voissin is not intended to remain a place for my ideas alone.
One of my long-term ambitions is to establish a space dedicated to artistic and artisanal education in Indonesia—a place where artists and craftspeople can learn, experiment, exchange knowledge, and develop their own language of making.
A place where knowledge can be passed forward, and where a new generation of artisans can find their own reason to create.
Voissin is only the beginning of that ambition.
I do not wish for my name to stand above the House. Voissin should have a life of its own, shaped by the work, the people who make it, and those who find meaning in it.
I simply hope to give it a beginning.
